Handmade wooden furniture to be used, and to last.

At the beginning of each project I think about what the piece of furniture will be used for, what is its function. Then how can its function be filled in the most simple way. By keeping the look of the furniture simple it allows me to show off the material. Wood is so beautiful, infinitely varied, and holds a feeling to humans like no other. It is important to me to consider the beauty of the tree that grew in first place and to respect the material I use to make a living. To honour the material I try to waste as little as I can whilst trying to make something at least as beautiful as the tree when it stood. If not, more beautiful. Making furniture that will last a long time demands proper thought into the size and shape of each piece, considering the space it will live in. The process of finding a solution to a space with clients is a lovely process, working together to make something useful, beautiful and long lasting.
